Sales Transaction Payment Options

Cash and credit, both sales transaction payment collection options are supported by AlnicoSoft, and we highly encourage you to choose the best options that suit you. AlnicoSoft offers you two kinds of cashless payment options – online using payment form and In-person payment. The Stripe platform has been chosen to process credit card transactions for best performance and security reasons.

Cash Payment

All AlnicoSoft users, by default, are eligible to complete the sales transaction using cash. You only are charged AlnicoSoft application fees. There will be no application fee for any cash transaction during the free trial period. AlnicoSoft always keeps track of the opted sales transaction payment options, and if it is a cash transaction, then the refund can only be accomplished using cash. In the case of sales transactions using cash, the accumulated subscription fee is collected at the end of the current subscription period. The length of the subscription period is usually thirty days.

Credit Card Payment Form

With this payment option, you will be able to complete the sales transaction using the inbuilt payment form at the checkout page. At checkout, you will be asked to enter credit card information in the inbuilt payment form. After entering credit card details, the data will be directly sent to Stripe to validate, authenticate and authorize the credit card transaction.

Follow a few simple steps to enable the credit card payment option and the steps are

  • Login to the AlnicoSoft application and go to the “Stripe Connect” page (click menu Admin and then “Stripe Connect”).
  • The System will redirect you to the Stripe account registration/Login page. There is no cost to create a Stripe connect account (as of 07/16/2021).
  • After entering all valid information into Stripe console, you will be automatically redirected back to the AlnicoSoft account.

After successful enrollment, you are eligible to accept credit card payments. You will find the credit card entry field is enabled on the Sales Summary page. You should enable this option and explore the form-based credit card payment transactions before purchasing the in-person credit card reader. Credit card information will not be stored in the AlnicoSoft database, but we will be storing reference numbers to keep track of the transaction.

Payment using Card Reader

Alnicosoft accepts in-person credit card payment using a Verifone P400 reader connected over the internet. Verifone P400 reader is simple to use and stylish. It supports maximum security and compliance with end-to-end encryption and it can be connected via ethernet and wifi. The reader “Verifone P400” must be purchased from Stripe.com. This ensures that all card transactions are secured by Stripe’s end-to-end encryption, and your readers are always up to date via their remote management tools. The Stripe Terminal Reader “Verifone P400” accepts encrypt sensitive card information using multiple approaches like EMV, contactless, and swiped. You will contact Stripe support to cancel or refund the reader. An AlnicoSoft account can have multiple card readers for each store and user. Newly purchased Verifone P400 readers need to be integrated with an AlnicoSoft account, and the steps are i) assign the location id to each reader ii) register the reader to Stripe account iii) after registration, assign the reader to a specific user.

Conclusion

As an AlnicoSoft user, you will have full control over how you would like to collect the payment from your customer either cash or credit, and if it is credit then either the online form or in-person card reader. There is no difference in the application fee for either of the payment options. But, the stripe processing fees will be collected only for any credit card transactions including the trial period. In case the sales amount is paid by credit card only then usually the application fee is collected immediately after sales transactions. Otherwise, for any partial payment using credit and cash, the application fee is collected at the end of the subscription period.
